Dear IFLS Board Members,
It is my great honor to serve as President of the International Federation of Logistics and SCM Systems (IFLS). Over the past year, I have been deeply encouraged by the trust, support, and collegial spirit of our Board Members, committee members, partner institutions, and friends around the world. IFLS is more than an academic organization. It is a community built by generations of scholars and practitioners committed to advancing logistics and supply chain management systems for industry, society, and global cooperation.
As we look ahead to ICLS 2026 in Nha Trang, Vietnam, it is appropriate to recall the tradition that has brought us to this important moment. Since its establishment in 2003, IFLS has promoted logistics and SCM systems research, knowledge exchange, collaborative scholarship, and the connection between academic inquiry and real-world applications. The ICLS tradition began in 2004, when the first International Congress on Logistics and SCM Systems was initiated by Waseda University and held in Tokyo, Japan. Over two decades, ICLS has grown from an Asia-based academic gathering into a sustained international congress with an expanding global presence.
This progress reflects the dedication of our founders, past presidents, Board Members, Fellows, conference chairs, reviewers, authors, students, and institutional partners. Through successive congresses, special sessions, invited lectures, publications, and professional networks, ICLS has accumulated not only academic outputs, but also a shared intellectual identity and a spirit of collegial collaboration.
ICLS 2026 will mark the 20th International Congress on Logistics and SCM Systems. It is not simply another annual meeting, but a milestone for our community and an opportunity to honor our history, renew our commitment, and shape the next chapter of IFLS. The congress will be held in Nha Trang from July 12 to 14, 2026, under the timely theme: “Resilient, Green, and Intelligent Logistics Systems for a Changing World.”
This theme speaks directly to the responsibilities of our field. Global disruptions, geopolitical uncertainty, climate risks, digital transformation, and changing patterns of production and consumption have made logistics and supply chain systems more complex than ever. Resilience is now essential. Green and responsible logistics are central to sustainable development. Intelligence, supported by data analytics, optimization, artificial intelligence, digital platforms, and human expertise, is reshaping decision-making across transportation, warehousing, ports, healthcare, humanitarian operations, manufacturing, services, and global supply networks.
ICLS 2026 will provide an important forum for these conversations. Its scope covers maritime, transport, aviation, urban, retail, tourism, service, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and humanitarian logistics, as well as digital logistics, decision support, optimization, sustainability, logistics education, innovation, and AI-enabled logistics and supply chain management. This breadth is one of IFLS’s greatest strengths.
I respectfully call upon all IFLS Board Members to support ICLS 2026 through active participation, academic leadership, high-quality submissions, special sessions, professional outreach, and the invitation of colleagues and collaborators. I also warmly invite IFLS Fellows and senior colleagues to serve as intellectual anchors of the congress by sharing research, chairing sessions, mentoring young scholars, and encouraging doctoral students and early-career researchers to participate.
On behalf of IFLS, I sincerely thank Prof. Ho Thanh Phong, General Conference Chair and President of the University of The Pacific Ocean, and the ICLS 2026 Organizing Committee. To make the congress more accessible to international participants, Prof. Ho Thanh Phong and the local team have made special efforts to secure favorable registration fees. Their vision, generosity, and service deserve our appreciation and support.
Dear colleagues, the 20th ICLS is a moment for us to come together not only as conference participants, but as members of a shared academic community. Let us join hands in Nha Trang to honor our history, strengthen our community, and advance resilient, green, and intelligent logistics systems for a changing world.

Tôi rất vinh dự được đảm nhiệm vai trò Chủ tịch Liên đoàn Quốc tế về Hệ thống Logistics và Quản lý Chuỗi Cung ứng (IFLS). Trong năm vừa qua, tôi đã được khích lệ sâu sắc bởi sự tin tưởng, ủng hộ và tinh thần hợp tác đồng nghiệp từ các Thành viên Hội đồng, các thành viên ủy ban, các tổ chức đối tác cùng bạn bè trên toàn thế giới. IFLS không chỉ đơn thuần là một tổ chức học thuật. Đây là một cộng đồng được vun đắp bởi nhiều thế hệ học giả và các chuyên gia thực tiễn, những người luôn cam kết thúc đẩy sự phát triển của các hệ thống logistics và quản lý chuỗi cung ứng vì nền công nghiệp, xã hội và sự hợp tác toàn cầu.
Khi hướng tới ICLS 2026 tại Nha Trang, Việt Nam, đây là dịp thích hợp để chúng ta cùng nhìn lại truyền thống đã đưa chúng ta đến thời khắc quan trọng này. Kể từ khi thành lập vào năm 2003, IFLS đã và đang thúc đẩy hoạt động nghiên cứu về hệ thống logistics và SCM, trao đổi kiến thức, hợp tác học thuật, và sự kết nối giữa tri thức hàn lâm với ứng dụng thực tiễn. Truyền thống của ICLS bắt đầu từ năm 2004, khi Hội nghị Quốc tế về Hệ thống Logistics và SCM đầu tiên được Đại học Waseda khởi xướng và tổ chức tại Tokyo, Nhật Bản. Trải qua hai thập kỷ, ICLS đã phát triển từ một hội nghị học thuật khởi nguồn tại châu Á trở thành một hội nghị quốc tế bền vững với sự hiện diện ngày càng mở rộng trên toàn cầu.
Sự phát triển này phản ánh sự cống hiến của các nhà sáng lập, các thế hệ chủ tịch tiền nhiệm, các Thành viên Hội đồng, các Hội viên (Fellows), các trưởng ban tổ chức hội nghị, các nhà phản biện khoa học, các tác giả, sinh viên và các tổ chức đối tác. Thông qua các kỳ hội nghị liên tiếp, các phiên họp chuyên đề, các bài giảng khách mời, các ấn phẩm và mạng lưới chuyên môn, ICLS không chỉ tích lũy được các thành tựu học thuật mà còn vun đắp một bản sắc tri thức chung và tinh thần hợp tác đồng nghiệp.
Thay mặt cho IFLS, tôi xin gửi lời cảm ơn chân thành tới GS. Hồ Thanh Phong, Chủ tịch Hội nghị kiêm Hiệu trưởng trường Đại học Thái Bình Dương, cùng Ban Tổ chức ICLS 2026. Để hội nghị có thể dễ dàng tiếp cận hơn với các đại biểu quốc tế, GS. Hồ Thanh Phong và đội ngũ tại nước sở tại đã đặc biệt nỗ lực nhằm có được mức phí đăng ký ưu đãi nhất. Tầm nhìn, sự tận tâm và sự cống hiến của họ xứng đáng nhận được sự trân trọng và ủng hộ của tất cả chúng ta.
Kính thưa các đồng nghiệp, ICLS lần thứ 20 là khoảnh khắc để chúng ta hội ngộ không chỉ với tư cách là những đại biểu tham dự hội nghị, mà còn là thành viên của một cộng đồng học thuật chung. Hãy cùng chung tay tại Nha Trang để tôn vinh lịch sử, củng cố cộng đồng và thúc đẩy các hệ thống logistics thích ứng, xanh và thông minh cho một thế giới đang biến đổi.
